Alicia Gail Waldrep

Ms. Alicia “Gail” Waldrep, age 84 of Calhoun, formerly of North Augusta, S.C, passed away on Sunday December 24th, 2023.

Ms. Waldrep was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 30th, 1939 to the late Ralph Lanier Waldrep and the late Ruby Louise Brannon Waldrep. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Jeannie Collins and Tess Galloway. Ms. Waldrep was a retired teacher and taught at many various schools during her career. She held a master’s degree in music from the University of Wisconsin and was an accomplished pianist. She choreographed multiple shows for her music classes and was loved by all her students. She loved to write short stories, was a vocalist, hiking, traveling, and laughing.

Survivors include her brother, Richard “Dick” Waldrep of Parkville, MD.; one sister, Anita Lewis of Swainsboro, Ga.; seven nieces, Suzy Bentley, Kendall Duggan, Natalie Galloway, Lauren Coates, Penelope Herman, Eva Marie McRae, and Maddie Waldrep; four nephews, John Collins, Brannon Galloway, Benji Galloway, and Mac McRae.

In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Waldrep was cremated, and a memorial service is being planned for a later date.
