Betty Jean O'Neill

Mrs. Betty Jean Broome O'Neill, age 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. O'Neill was born in Rome, Georgia, on July 8, 1944, a daughter of the late James Henry Broome Jr. and the late Agnes Louie Hughes Broome. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Hank" William O'Neill; one daughter, Stacey Renee Brown; two sons, Jason Lee Davis and Kenneth William O'Neill; two sisters, Charlotte Virginia Poff and Marie Nelson; two brothers, James Richard Broome and William Hughes Broome.

Mrs. O'Neill was the heart of her family and found great joy in being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family was the center of her life and spoiling her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "MeMaw", was something she took to heart. She was a mother figure in their upbringing and was cherished for it. Her sweet nature and kind, caring disposition was felt by not only her family but others as well. Betty Jean had a way of making people feel like they were special. She was known to cook and put together snacks for everyone who crossed through her doorstep. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, traveling - making memories at Tybee Island was one of her favorite places, and listening to Christian music. Of all the things someone could say about Betty Jean, her love for Jesus Christ was the one that she was most proud of. She was a devoted, prayerful, and loving disciple for the Lord and a member of High Point Church. No matter where she was, who she was speaking to, or what was going on you'd find her telling people about Jesus and she enjoyed using that talent to bring others closer to him. It is easy to say she left an impact with everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed by both her family and her friends.

Survivors include her eight grandchildren, Stephanie Renee Morrison (Jeff), Beverli Ann Bingham (Shaun), Libby Davis, Kennesa O'Neill, Danielle O'Neill, Sammantha O'Neill, Jaimee O'Neill, Judah O'Neill; twelve great grandchildren, Johnathan (Neele), Nathaniel, Hannah, Jaime, Stormie, River, Brayden, Emma, S.J., Jacob, Taylor, Scarlett; two sisters, Helen Parker and Brenda Joyce Carrington; one brother, Gary Paul Broome (Jeanne); extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2PM in the chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Byars officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at Cave Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1PM until 2PM in the Chapel at Reynolds Funeral Home.
