Mrs. Bonnye Dale Sielken, age 64 of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Sielken was born in Montgomery, Alabama on November 25th, 1961, a daughter of the late James Woodrow Forbus and the late Ouida Faye Evans Forbus.
Bonnye loved her husband David, of 42 years, deeply. Together, they built a life and family that became one of her greatest joys. Her legacy lives on through her children, but her grandchildren held an especially tender place in her heart. To them, she was Nana. She treasured being their Nana, pouring her love into each of them. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy, and anyone who knew Bonnye could see just how much they meant to her. Bonnye loved to sing, but there was something particularly meaningful to her about singing in church. She also loved to cook, whether it was at home for her family or in the church kitchen preparing food for a gathering. Church functions often found her right where she enjoyed being—helping in the kitchen, serving others, and spending time with people she loved.
Her faith in the Lord remained steadfast throughout her life, carrying her through even the most difficult days of her final journey. One Scripture she held close was Jeremiah 30:17: “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD.”
Bonnye held firmly to that promise. Though the answer came differently than those who loved her had prayed and hoped, her family finds comfort in knowing that God was faithful. Her healing is now complete in Heaven, where sickness and pain are no more. She is whole, restored, and in the presence of the Lord she loved and served. Her life leaves behind countless memories and a family who knew how deeply they were loved. We find comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye. One day, we will meet again. She fought her fight, she kept the faith, and now she is healed.
Mrs. Sielken is survived by her husband, Mr. David Sielken; four children, Amie Ganze and her husband, Rev. Joe Ganze, Abigail Finley and her husband, Russell Finley, Joshua Sielken and his wife, Cheyenne Sielken, and Ashleigh Scott and her husband, Billie Scott; ten grandchildren, Malachi Ganze, Aubrielle Ganze, Mannon Finley, Amelia Scott, Melvin Scott, Isabella Sielken, Illiana Sielken, Silas Sielken, Skylar Sielken, and Conner Sielken; two brothers, Michael Forbus (Susan) and Alan Forbus (Pam).
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Bruce, Rev. Joe Ganze, and Rev. Doug Simons officiating. Russell Finley and The Howell Family will be in charge of the music. Interment will follow in Grier Chapel Cemetery in Wetumpka, Alabama, 135 West Central Road Wetumpka, Al 36092
