Mrs. Carrie Lynn Ray

Mrs. Carrie Lynn Smith Ray, age 63 of Shannon, Ga., passed away on Thursday, April 10th, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Ray was born in Gordon County on February 28th, 1962, a daughter of the late Fain Calvin Smith and Kathryn Jean Towers Smith. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Ray worked as a shipping supervisor at Tandus Flooring. She had a deep love for horses and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Known for her strong work ethic, she also found joy in caring for others, devoting her time as a compassionate caretaker for hospice patients. Mrs. Ray was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Harris of Calhoun; one son, Steven Key of Calhoun; very special friend, Robert Blackmon; five grandchildren, Logan, Natalie, Laci, Layla, and Junior; one brother, Greg Smith; two sisters, Kim McEntire (Steve) and Chris Gray (Timmy); several nieces.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Ray was cremated, and no services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
