Mrs. Cheryl Ann Smith, age 81, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, at a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Smith was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 3rd, 1944, to the late Charles Francis Southern and the late Audrey Helen Higgins. Mrs. Smith was a talented artist who painted illustrations and beautiful paintings. She was creative, intuitive, and curious. This led to her love of nature, growing beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables in her garden. Her resourceful knowledge was said to be immeasurable- except how to cook! Mrs. Smith was loved by all those who knew her and made everyone around her feel like they were special. She was known as the life of any party she was attending and everyone couldn't wait for her to show up in attendance. In her downtime, she was an avid reader and enjoyed thrifting for a great find. Her vibrant personality, love for others, and talents will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include: Two sons, James Albert Corwell IV (Caroline) and Daniel Pierce Corwell; one daughter, Audrey Cheryl Smith; six grandchildren, Maximillian Corwell, Isabella Corwell, James Ki Corwell, Robert Brown, Chloe Trotter, and Alex Trotter; two great grandchildren, Charlotte Trotter and George Lanham.
