Mr. Donald Richard "Donnie" Bailey

Mr. Donald Richard “Donnie” Bailey, age 67 of Shannon, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Mr. Bailey was born in Floyd County on August 10th, 1958, a son of the late Robert Felton Bailey and the late Johnnie Winkle Bailey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Thomas Bailey and Rickey Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a retired truck driver and enjoyed spending his time “piddling” with his electronics and attending Sunday service at the First Baptist Church of Shannon.

Survivors include his two daughters, Melinda Williamson (David) and Flown Kimmerling (Jason); five grandchildren, Katie, Noah, Alessia, Abbie, and Ben; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sherri Bailey; three nieces, Rebecca Bomar, Jennifer Bailey, and Michelle Bailey-Maletti; one nephew, Scott Bailey; special cousin, Melton Bailey; several extended family members and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, at 3 PM in the chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Byars officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24th, from 2 PM until 3 PM at the funeral home.
