Mr. Gary Cecil Barnes

Mr. Gary Cecil Barnes, age 76 of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at a local hospital.

Mr. Barnes was born in Floyd County on March 9th, 1949, a son of the late Cecil Franklin Barnes and the late Ruby Payne Barnes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Billy Barnes; sister, Ruth Ann Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a graduate of Model High School and was a member of Mt. Alto Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors include his sister, Pat Adair and her husband, Charles; best friend, Wanda Smith; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 at 3 PM from the chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev. Norv Havens officiating. The family will hold a private interment at a later date. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 28th, from 2 PM until 3 PM at the funeral home.
