Mr. Glenn Jacob “Bing” Vogler, age 82 of Acworth, Ga., passed away on Friday, August 29th, 2025, at Piedmont Cartersville Hospital.
Mr. Vogler was born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania on April 25th, 1943, a son of the late Charles Madison Vogler and the late Ruth Margaret Musselman Vogler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Vogler. Mr. Vogler graduated from Blackhawk High School, class of 1961, and later joined the military. He served his country proudly in the United States Army, earning the commendation as a Sharpshooter and receiving the National Defense Service Medal. After being honorably discharged from the military, he was a millworker with the Eaton Corporation. His roots ran deep, and he was proud to stand for what he believed in, which was shown through his love for politics and public service. He ran for the office of Mayor, only losing by 21 votes and also served his community as a deputy sheriff. He enjoyed life, “pestering” his kids and grandkids, and was a “Jack of all trades, yet a master of none”. Mr. Vogler was of the Methodist faith and had most recently been attending Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Fox Vogler; one daughter, Donna Vogler-Casey (Regina) of Marietta; one son, Jim Vogler (Jeaneen) of Taylorsville; seven grandchildren, James D. Vogler, Kendall Beckham, Madison Vogler, Alex Casper, Bryce Jamison, Grant Jamison, and Amanda Stovall; one sister, Cheryl Misner; five great-grandchildren and one on the way.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Vogler was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation in memory of Mr. Vogler.
