Hester Welborn Wollstein

Mrs. Hester Welborn Wollstein, age 91, of Shannon, Georgia and formerly of Pendleton, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, at home with her family lovingly by her side.

Mrs. Wollstein was born in Pendleton, South Carolina, on March 10th, 1934, to the late Byron Holt Welborn and the late Rosa Gambril Welborn. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Harold Nathan Wollstein. Mrs. Wollstein was a lovingly sweet person whose disposition made her a joy to be around. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother who doted on her family. Mrs. Wollstein enjoyed nothing better than spending her days toiling on her family's farm and homestead, where her love of gardening was first established. She was an avid reader and filled her time indoors with a good book in her hand. She loved working on puzzles during the winter months to pass the time. Her love, laughter, and sweet demeanor will be dearly missed by her family and friends and those who were fortunate to know her.

Mrs. Wollstein is survived by two sons, Byron Welborn Wollstein and Harold "Nathan" Wollstein Jr. (Tanya); one daughter, Amy Wollstein Mitchell; four grandchildren, Lauren Mauk (Alex), Joshua Wollstein, Damien Wollstein (Ann), and Zoe Hulme (Rebecca); two sisters, Lillian Matthews and Linda Sue Kelley.

Mrs. Wollstein was cremated per her wishes and a private family service will be held at a later date.
