Mr. James Lewis Aycock, age 80 of Cartersville, GA., passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18th, 2025, surrounded by his family at a local hospital.

Mr. Aycock was born in Atlanta, GA., on January 30th, 1944, to the late James Mell Aycock and Sarah Edna Morris Aycock. Mr. Aycock was a millwright with Atlantic Steel until his retirement. Mr. Aycock proudly served our country in the United States Navy. His commitment to service shown as he was a decorated veteran, having received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. He carried on his strong work ethic at Atlantic Steel, where he tirelessly worked as a millwright. A Christian who was of the Baptist faith, he was known to serve the Lord just as fervently as he did all things throughout his life. Mr. Aycock was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His pastimes included shooting pool, spending time with his family and friends, and often could be found dancing up a storm. Mr. Aycock will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all those who were fortunate to know him.

Survivors include is wife, Jane Aycock; two sons, Chris (April) Aycock of Pensacola, FL. and Mark Bryan pf San Diego, CA.; one daughter, Kimberly Yates (Steve) Vortman of Port Charlotte, FL.; two grandchildren, Matt (Amanda) Yates and Jamie (Chris) Mikell; one great grandchild Robert Mikell.

Interment service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA., on February 14th, 2024 at 12:30PM.
