Mr.James Alfred "Tooter" Cochran

Mr. James Alfred “Tooter” Cochran, age 77 of Armuchee, Ga., passed away on Friday, December 27th, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family. 

Mr. Cochran was born in Bartow County on March 2nd, 1947, a son of the late James Doyle Cochran and the late Ida Louise Jones Cochran. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jean Jones Cochran; his brother, Lester Cochran. Mr. Cochran was a longtime employee of the University of Georgia and served as the farm supervisor at the Northwest Georgia Experiment Station until his retirement. He was a member of the Mount Calvary Freewill Baptist Church for over 20 years. 

Survivors include his son, Joseph Cochran (Casey) of Douglas; two daughters, Brandy Patterson (Randy) of Rome and Misty Pierce (Brian) of Fairmount; six grandchildren, Blake Cochran (Raylon), Brooke Vickers (Waylon), Bailey Cochran, Phillip Patterson (Emily), Coy Patterson, Destiny Smith (Billy), and Chris McCoy; one brother, Macky Cochran (Sherry); seven great-grandchildren; special nieces, Audry Cochran and Tonya Stone. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at 2 PM in the chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with his son and grandson, Rev. Joseph Cochran and Blake Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the Oostanaula Methodist Church Cemetery. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Glen Stone, Phillip Patterson, Brian Pierce, Mikey Edwards, Jerome Burch, and Preston Alphin. Honorary pallbearers include Coy Patterson, Josh Cochran, and Waylon Vickers. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 30th from 5 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
