Mrs. Janet Rosalie Sharp, age 85, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at a local assisted living facility.
Mrs. Sharp was born in Marceline, Missouri, on December 22, 1940, to the late Claude Hughes and the late Viola Ruth Peden Hughes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two daughters, Shelly Blews and Leah Chapman; as well as several siblings. Mrs. Sharp was born and raised in Missouri, met her husband there and they together started a family. She spent the last 20 years of her life in Georgia, where she had followed her daughters and grandchildren, because her heart wasn't happy unless she was closest to them. Janet truly enjoyed taking care of her family and it is what she was best known for! She lovingly devoted herself to her husband Rex for over 60 years, nurtured her daughters and spoiled her grandchildren every chance she was given. She is described as the sweetest, kindest, most genuine person who would help anyone she could. Janet enjoyed shopping and cooking in her free time. Her famous mashed potatoes floating in that shimmer of butter will be greatly missed at Thanksgiving by her family, and it will be hard for any of them to replicate her recipe! She will be missed so very much by all those who were lucky enough to know her and be loved by her.
Survivors include her loving husband Ronald "Rex" Sharp; three grandchildren, Adam (Crystal) Chapman, Sophie Blews, Kyra Blews; one great grandchild, Laney Chapman; one son in law, Scott Blews; siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Sharp was cremated and memorial services are pending and will be announced at a later time.
