Mr. Jerry Wilson Bomar

Mr. Jerry Wilson Bomar, age 74 of Plainville, Ga., passed away on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at a local hospital.

Mr. Bomar was born in Ringgold, Georgia on September 4th, 1951, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Bomar and Edith Hasty Ledford. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life, Mrs. Lynda Gail Hughes Bomar; two sons, Michael “Todd” and Timothy “Scott” Bomar; half-sister, Freddie Sue Byers; brother-in-law, Morris Phillips. Jerry retired from Mohawk Industries where he worked as a truck driver for 18 years. Earlier in life, he served his community for several years as a Gordon County Sheriff’s Deputy and was also a certified EMT. He loved his family and spent every moment he could with them, especially with his sweetheart, Lynda. He enjoyed fishing and lived his life to the fullest, always laughing and “cutting up”. On July 14, 1970, both Jerry and Lynda were saved, and their lives were changed. Together they joined in the Lord’s Army, ministering to souls through their gospel singing group, Jerry and The Harmony Tones. Jerry was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and would do whatever it took to get the job done. He was a talented bass player with a style that was unmatched. He attended Lakeview Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his son, Preston Bomar of Plainville; five grandchildren, Dakota Bomar, Whitney Stimher, Zachary Bomar, Jessica Bomar, and Bailey Bomar; two brothers, Barry Ledford and Robert Bomar (Helen); his mother, Edith Hasty Ledford; two sisters, Shirley Patterson and Marilyn Phillips; several nieces and nephews; several great-grandchildren.
