Mr. John Dowell "Blue Diamond" Bradshaw Jr.

Mr. John Dowell "Blue Diamond" Bradshaw Jr., age 66 of Shannon, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 14th, 2026 at Atrium Health Floyd following injuries sustained in an accident.

Mr. Bradshaw was born in Floyd County on May 14th, 1960, a son of the late John Dowell Bradshaw Sr., and Betty Mae Sweatt Brownlow.

Mr. Bradshaw was a kind-hearted man who was always smiling and always found happiness in the simple things of  life. He loved his children and grandchildren and held a special place in his heart for animals. In his earlier years, he worked as a deliveryman for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In his spare time, he enjoyed talking on his CB radio. He enjoyed sitting and talking to truck drivers and anybody else who had a CB radio. He eventually earned the handle, “Blue Diamond.” 

Survivors include his children, Brittany Bradshaw of Rome and Jonathan Bradshaw of Calhoun; mother, Betty May Brownlow; mother of his children and best friend, Pam Minthorn; two brothers, James Bradshaw and Eddie Brownlow; one sister, Melody Ford (Alan); two grandchildren Everleigh Shuler and Carson Bradshaw; extended friends and family. 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026 at 2 PM in the chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Grant Collier officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19th from 12 PM until 2 PM at the funeral home.
