Mr. John "J.W." William Hunter

Mr. John "J.W." William Hunter, age 60, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at his residence. 

Mr. Hunter was born on September 3, 1965, a son of the late Daniel C. Hunter and the late Rose Lucille Daily Hunter. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by one brother, James and two sisters, Brenda and Louise. 

J.W. was known as a workaholic and a spitfire by nature - often saying that people would use any excuse to get out of an honest day's work! He worked hard both at his job and in his spare time, which made his love for sleeping and a good nap definitely deserved.  J.W. was mechanically inclined and used that knowledge in his career for over 30 years. When he was off the clock, he built engines and raced dirt track cars, loved going camping with his family, and cheered on his favorite sports teams. It is said he would shout at the T.V. during Ga Tech football games, Atlanta Braves baseball games, or any Nascar race that was playing - sometimes happily encouraging them on and sometimes telling them exactly what they were doing wrong! He was a man who will be greatly missed by both his family and his friends. 

Survivors include his three sons, Joshua (Alyse) Hunter, Cody (Briana) Hunter, Tyler (Samantha) Swafford; the mother of his children, Elizabeth Hunter; one sister, Betty Jo; six grandchildren, Conner (Charity), Lucy, Reagan, Emmett, Karsyn Elliott, Elias Rowan; extended family and friends. 

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Hunter was cremated, and no further services are planned at this time.
