Mrs. Judith Diane Reed, age 91, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Reed was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, on June 10, 1935, a daughter to the late Louis Karges and the late Sarah Karges. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William R. Reed; two sisters, Mary Lou and Jane.
Judith was born and raised in Pennsylvania, moved to New York for some time, but her heart carried her back to Pennsylvania. She eventually moved to Georgia, where she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Reed, and enjoyed their time together living in the South. Judith was a registered nurse and it fit her personality of caring and helping others. Her true passion was within the arts though, she was a talented pianist who taught piano lessons for many years, music was something she enjoyed- whether listening, creating, or teaching. She made beautiful needlework items, from embroidery to crochet that are treasured by her family. Her hobbies included painting, spending time outdoors, walking in the park, and traveling through the mountains. Judith had many titles in life but her favorite was "Daboo" which she was affectionately called by her Grandson, who was the absolute highlight of her life. She was loved by all she encountered and will be missed tremendously by all who knew her.
Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Dianne L.Mackowski and Pete; one son and daughter in law, Karl L. Konnerth III and Julia; one grandson, Daniel L. Mackowski; extended family and friends.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Reed was cremated, and no further services are scheduled at this time.
