Mrs. Laura Leigh Martin

Mrs. Laura Leigh Martin, age 69, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Martin was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on September 5, 1956, a daughter to the late Samuel Darby Andrews and Margaret "Maggie" Louise Washburn Andrews. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Boyd Algin Martin and one brother, Michael Andrews. Laura was always known as a Daddy's girl to "Big Sam" and took pride in that affectionate role. She was loved dearly by not only her Daddy, but all those who knew her. She in turn gave that love right back, especially to her grandchildren- they were a true joy in her life. She would share her love for Snoopy with them, and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them by her side. Laura was an avid shopper who could always be found in the boot section of any store. Cowboy boots were her weakness and she added to her collection every chance she got! In her downtime, she enjoyed listening to country music, Tim McGraw was her favorite, and going to the beach. She was fun, loving, and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret "Maggie" Andrews; one daughter, Samantha (Chuck DeMars) Martin; one son, Elliott Martin; one brother, Greg Andrews; three grandchildren, Thorin DeMars, Flint DeMars, Cedar DeMars; one aunt, Jimmie Lee Langley.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Martin was cremated, and a private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
