Mrs. Crowder was born in Floyd County on September 24th, 1934, to the late John G. Sharp and the late Thelma Ingram Sharp. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Harold Crowder Sr.; two brothers-in-law, George Adams and Bobby Jones. Mrs. Crowder was a devoted follower of the Lord and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a member of North Rome Church of God and Lakeview Pentecostal Church. She loved the choir and played both the piano and organ for many years. Her love of singing and her love for the Lord allowed her to minister to many people throughout the years. She ministered in song with her family trio, “The Sharp Sisters”. Mrs. Crowder had a heart for the mission field and supported many missions throughout her life. She loved to visit the Indian Reservations in North Dakota. She loved to travel with her siblings, usually taking at least a two week trip each time, all around the United States. She was a nurturer by nature, and it was evident to all those she encountered. She worked as a Nurse Practitioner, where she not only nursed, but loved, cared for, and touched the lives of her patients. Her healthcare career started at Floyd Hospital until she moved to the Floyd County Health Department until she retired. After her retirement, she decided to go back to work and continued to serve at the Gordon County Health Department and worked until she was 80 years old. This boundless love started with her dedication she showed in raising her five children with kindness that poured over into her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her legacy of love, strength, and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and all those who were fortunate to know her and that shared in her life’s journey.
