Mrs. Michelle Darlene Dyer

Mrs. Michelle Darlene Dyer, age 63, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, peacefully with her family by her side at home. 

Mrs. Dyer was born in Rome, Georgia, on December 23, 1962, a daughter of the late Oscar "Sam" Boatner and the late Shirley Anne Fulton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Angela Fulton Dyer and Sandra Stocks. Michelle, like a true Southern Belle, was the heart of her family and found her greatest joy in helping and loving on others. Her sweet nature and welcoming smile went a long way within the community. She visited nursing homes spending time with the residents, playing Bingo, dancing during activities, and brightening their days. Michelle was active with The Salvation Army and loved attending The Salvation Army Church where she was a member. She was a hard worker in both her career and volunteering. When she did take time for herself, it was certain old school country would be playing, most likely her favorite singer Conway Twitty, and she'd be talking to her cats or maybe have her hands in crafts and pottery. In the fall, you'd for sure see her cheering on her beloved Tennessee Vols! The one thing she enjoyed the absolute most was spending time with her family making memories. 

Survivors include her husband, Barry Dyer; one daughter, Candice "Rosie" Poole (Donald Whitehead); one son, Richard Poole; seven sisters, Teresa Boatner, Vanessa Johnson, Pamela Thompson (Walter Ferguson), Cindy Boatner, Stacey Thompson, Dawn Renee, Rebecca Ogles; two brothers, Jefferson Thompson and "John John" Fulton; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026  from 5PM until 7PM at The Salvation Army of Rome, GA, 317 East 1st Avenue, Rome, Georgia, 30161
