Mrs. Rebecca Ann Culberson, age 84 of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 20th, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Culberson was born in Chattooga County, Georgia, on March 8th, 1941, to the late Ellis Jackson Shaw and Hattie Mae Yarbrough Shaw. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Wilburn "Woody" Culberson; one daughter, Teresa "T.T." Haney; one son, James "Jim" Culberson; one son in law, Roy Porter; one sister, Mary F. Patton; six brothers, John E.Shaw, Elmas Edward Shaw, Bobby W. Shaw, David E. Shaw, Tommy G. Shaw, and Jimmy W. Shaw. Mrs. Culberson was married to the love of her life for 54 years. She enjoyed floral arranging, coloring pages upon pages of her adult coloring books, and traveling all over the United States and Canada. If eating out at the restaurants was on the agenda, you'd find her ordering up chicken fingers, catfish, or pepperoni and bacon pizza - and don't forget to stop for dessert at Dairy Queen for a blizzard! She was a thoughtful, kind, and loving person who took great care of her family. She often said that the greatest joy in her life was loving on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. It's the little things they will miss most, like the EVERY SINGLE morning text she sent out that said "Good morning, I love you. I hope you have a great day!". (What a way to start your day, and what a testament to her love.) She continued checking in on her family throughout the day via Facebook, where she'd troll their profiles and keep up with their every post, smiling and laughing all the while. She loved fiercely and was loved just as much. She was the matriarch to a family legacy that will live on for generations to come.
