Shirley Ann Eury

Mrs. Shirley Ann Eury, age 86, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 4th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Mrs. Eury was born in Kingston, Georgia, on July 14th,1938, to the late Milton Heath and the late Mary Kate Kell Heath. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Joe Frank Eury; one son, Anthony Wade Eury; one daughter, Carolyn Marie "Sam" Owens; two grandchildren, Chelsea Kristina Edwards and Christopher Godfrey; two brothers, Rodney Heath and Segars Heath; three sisters, Charlotte, Diane Willis, and Patricia Worley.

Mrs. Eury was the oldest daughter of 7 brothers and sisters, which had her learning at an early age how to care for family. She had a heart that was kind and her demeanor was admired by all that knew her. She had a huge capacity to love unconditionally, without judgment. She was quick to always give forgiveness, mercy and grace whether it was deserving or not. She was a strong, independent woman as evidenced by being a working Mom in the 1960's, which was highly abnormal. She took care of not only her family but also everyone around her. She and her late husband lived in the same house for 58 years, where she was the neighborhood Mom "Maw" to three generations of kids. Her love for her family was her greatest enjoyment in life. She loved them fiercely, loyally and with out-end. She was known as a true prayer warrior, praying the family through many extremely difficult times- the loss of family and friends to cancer, addiction, and even suicide. No matter the circumstances, she was a steadfast believer that God was always in control even during times that it was hard to comprehend. She was the glue that kept her family together, during laughter, tears, and so very many memories made. It is said that "She was the best part of us." by her family. She will be dearly missed by every single person who was so very fortunate to know her and be loved by her. Her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her friends and family.

Survivors include one daughter; Lisa Eury; three grandchildren, Candy (Adam) Coxaj, Joey Eury, and Jason Edwards; six great grandchildren, Katlin, Joseph, Adam, Avery, Jayden, and Ansley; one great great grandchild, Kashton; one brother, Riley Heath; one sister, Brenda Heath.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, at 3:00PM from the Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Jamie Howell, Lisa Eury, and Mark Owens officiating. The family welcomes flowers or if chosen, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
